AD:05 Art of Documentary lecture and film competition screening

Short listing for the 5 in 3 on 1 AD:05 Art of Documentary Film Competition is complete. The screening and announcement of prizes will take place from 6.30pm on Friday, 25 November 2005, at the National Museum of Australia, Visions Theatre. Emerging filmmakers were asked to make a documentary film for 5 minutes in 3 weeks on 1 topic, which was idoco: self-portrait/private world.
Helen Simondson, Screen Events Manager at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image will present a lecture before the screening on Leading Edge Digital Storytelling: 2006 International Digital Storytelling Conference. Following a short interval, at 7.45pm the eight finalists will be screened with the announcement of prizes at the end of the evening. The finalists are:

· Brendan Sloane, Local Hero
· Brooke Jones & Warwick Lynch, Warped Reality
· Amy Power, Jackie Peters, Lucinda Shawcross & Helene Walsh, Paper Mirror
· Brooke Goldfinch, Me & My Two Mums
· Paula Gleeson, Trimmy
· Kishwar Rahman & Ryan Walker, Who Do I Want To Be Today?
The screening and lecture is a free public event however seats are limited so arrive early.
Supported by the ANU National Institute of the Humanities & Creative Arts and the National Museum of Australia with in-kind support from Ronin Films, Hopscotch Films, Icon Film Distribution and the ANU Centre for Cross Cultural Research. Selected entries will be screened on ABC Stateline for the ACT.
