Harnessing the Future … Schools and Computer Games Summit

The Schools and Computer Games Summit will be held at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Melbourne, on Thursday 30 November 2005 from 9am – 5pm.
The Summit is a one-day forum showcasing powerful opportunities for schools to engage with computer games. The event will focus on strategies to introduce video games studies into the curriculum. It will also examine video games as an emerging new medium and will feature sessions on how to build a computer game. Participants will gain:
· An increased knowledge of the games industry and career opportunities for students;
· An understanding of how to use interactive entertainment as a stimulus for rich tasks across the curriculum; and
· An awareness of what is needed to introduce games into the curriculum.
