The Comedy Channel is offering up to $25,000 towards the development of a TV comedy concept, with the winner of the funding announced at the conference.
The Comedy Channel is inviting Australian writers, performers and producers to submit programme ideas for a 13 part half-hour comedy series. The Comedy Channel's Manager and Programme Manager will look at all submissions and then decide the finalists.
The competition is open to anyone, but selected finalists will be required to register for the 2007 SPAA Conference in November where they will have the opportunity to pitch their comedy concept directly to a panel of judges which will include Foxtel's Head of Television Brian Walsh, Head of Entertainment Graham Burrells and a profile industry guest.
