AFTRS - Screenwriting for Film and Television - Online

AFTRS is running a National online course introducing participants to the fundamentals of creating an industry standard feature film script.
The course comprises 10 modules with a variety of written assignments. Courses will be run ONLINE on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm-9pm starting on June 2 and finishing on August 6, 2009. Total cost of the course is $750.00
Luke Devenish will be the course presenter. Luke is a scriptwriter, novelist, playwright and lecturer. He was a Head Writer with Neighbours from 2001 to 2007, working in creative roles including Script Producer, Story Editor and Supervising Script Editor, overseeing over 1,500 episode scripts for the iconic soap. He was Script Executive on Something in the Air and, with ABC TV Drama, worked in the writing and development of SeaChange. His historical fiction novel, Den of Wolves, was published by Random House in 2008
By the end of this course participants will have had the opportunity to:
•Discover what makes a good story
•Explore mythic genres
•Learn about plot, protagonist, premise, problem
•Investigate elements of good dialogue
•Examine treatments and scene breakdowns
